EWHS College Application Campaign

Update: EWHS will once again participate in the College Application Campaign from October through November, 2018.

Our annual EW College Planning Night is scheduled for Wednesday, October 24th, 2018.  College Fair from 5:30-7:00 in the EW Gym, followed by Breakout Sessions from 7pm-8:30 pm.

We will also schedule a College Goal Washington event right here at EWHS on December 5th, 2018 at 6:30pm. We will have volunteers on hand to help you complete and file your FAFSA or WASFA. Volunteers will include Financial Aid Specialists from the college side as well as DREAMer experts for students needing to fill out the WASFA.
The FAFSA and WASFA go live every year beginning October 1st.  Make sure you fill out the FAFSA or WASFA in order to make the financial aid deadlines for the colleges you are applying to.

The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) in partnership with Edmonds-Woodway High School, is pleased to announce October 1st through December 15, 2018 as the College Application Campaign.  Schools across the state will host events to assist students in the application process.  Our school will participate in the College Application Campaign effort, with the goal of ensuring that all members of our senior class have the opportunity to apply to at least one two-year or four-year college or university program for fall enrollment.

As part of the campaign, EWHS hosted the following events in 2018:

Week of October 1st:  Kick-off!    Seniors  receive a college planning guide in advisory.   Staff and students wear college gear to celebrate the kick-off.
October 24th: EWHS College Planning Night.  5:30pm - 8:00 pm EWHS Gym.  For students and their families. This is a not-to-be-missed event!  More than 60 colleges and organizations will be present for our Open House College Fair in the gym from 5:30 to 7pm.   From 7:00 to 8:00 attend break-out sessions on preparing for college.
November:  College Essay Workshops with a college admissions rep during both lunches in the Career Center. Bring a copy of your essay(s) for advice, or come and get help brainstorming essay ideas.  You do not need to be applying to the university sponsoring the workshop.
Acing College Sessions: the Admissions Rep from Edmonds CC, Michelle Platt,  will be here one day each month during advisory (in the Career Center) and during both lunches (in the Cafe)  to answer questions about the application and financial aid process at Edmonds CC.

Additionally, college admissions representatives will be visiting EWHS throughout the campaign. See the calendar in Naviance for more information and to sign up for visits.
