Preparing for College and Careers Through CTE
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides a
variety of courses where students can follow their interests, explore careers,
earn college credit and industry certification, and gain important skills
needed for success in college, career, and life. CTE classes are a great place
for students to discover what they love to do while preparing for careers in
high demand. Whether you have a clear career goal or just
want to explore and learn something practical and new, you can benefit from CTE.
To help students with
their high school and career planning, CTE provides Programs of Study which
are detailed course plans for various career paths from high school through
postsecondary education. Programs of
Study serve as the students personalized High School and Beyond Plan, providing
a pathway to work right out of high school or continued education through a
community/technical college, registered apprenticeship program, or four-year
college/university. All Program of Study plans are designed to be flexible so students can rearrange, add or substitute courses based on their interests and scheduling needs.
