Amazon Corporate Headquarters
In 2004, Amazon expanded their corporate offices in downtown Seattle, south of Lake Union. 3rd yr. students took the opportunity to design new corporate headquarters that would include office, retail and food service spaces. The students chose a site in the South Lake Union neighborhood, which encompassed a full city block bordered by streets on all sides.
The main objective was to create an iconic building that would include the use of 'Green and Sustainable Systems' and minimize the footprint of the building, providing more public areas at street level. Click on image to view the winning design.
