There are numerous pathways to take in the Architecture profession beyond high school depending on your interests and goals. Universities and Colleges provide a variety of educational curriculum emphasis and we encourage you to research each option to insure you are making the best descision for your future education. Below is a brief description and link to institutions most attended by architecture students from EWHS.

Lake Washington Technical Institute EWHS students can recieve up to 12 college credits at this college if they earn a B grade or better in Drafting 1(4) and 2(8). LWTI has an outstanding Associates Degree Program curriculum that covers a wide variety of applicable coursework in preparation for University admission and/or job placement.

College of the Redwoods This northern California college has an excellent curriculum path to an Associate Degree in Architectural Drafting. Subjects include applicable pre-requisites in academic subjects such as construction math, public speaking, and sketching in addition to a variety of architectural courses. With the low cost of California colleges, this is a great school in a beautiful location.

Arizona State University Students from EWHS have recieved grants, scholarships and advanced placement into the College of Architecture at ASU. As a part of the Institute of Design and Arts, students are exposed to and benefit from having the opportunity to collaborate with students from other disciplines in the design and art community.

Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo EWHS students have a 100% acceptance rate into the this nationally top rated institution based on their architecture portfolio, projects and grades in high school. The School of Architecture is integrated with the School of Environmental Design and emphasize design as a means to enhance public and private spaces. Unlike most universities, first year students apply directly to, and begin taking design classes upon acceptance to the School of Architecture.

Washington State University Numerous of students from EWHS have been accepted and completed their B.S. and Masters Degree from WSU. As a part of the School of Construction Management, the focus is primarly on structure and engineering in its approach to design of the built environment. Students take GUR classes and undergraduate studio classes during their freshman and sophomore years, then apply to the School of Architecture to complete their Degree coursework. Acceptance is based on grades and a portfolio of undergraduate work.

University of Washington Many graduates of EWHS have attended UW for architecture. Similar to WSU, students apply to the School of Architecture after completing undergraduate design studio and GUR's in other subjects. Unlike WSU, the emphasis is on design and theory culminating in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural Studies. Unique to UW, students with a degree in another field can recieve a post graduate Masters degree in a specific architectural focus of study.

University of Oregon A few students from EWHS have recieved their Bachelor of Architecture degree from U of O. As a part of The School of Allied Arts, the curriculum focus is on collaboration with fields such as Landscape and Interior Design in the process of designing public and private spaces.
