Brick House
Gator St.
Queen Anne, WA
A New Home for the Jones Family
Designed and Drafted by Spencer Tucker
Second Year (2003-2004)

This house was designed for a site on Gator St. on Queen Anne Hill. The objective of this second year project was to create a two-story home. The home sits atop Queen Anne Hill with views of the Puget Sound, the Space Needle, and the Seattle skyline. With a basic foot-print for the house given, the project asked for three bedrooms (two bedrooms with an adjoining bath and one master), two baths, a kitchen, and stairs between the two floors.
In designing the home I tried to create a house that would fit in with the surrounding older, Queen Anne style homes. I also wanted to bring the great views around the house into the home. To accomplish this, I placed large windows in the family room and dining room, as well as the two bedrooms, and hallway that look out over the city. This house was designed for a family of four, with two teenage kids.
